7. September 2011: We released TripIt Pro Point Tracker
Missing out on expiring points and miles? Oh no, that just won’t do. In 2011, we launched TripIt Pro Point Tracker to help travelers monitor their reward programs automatically. Point Tracker currently supports more than 150 reward programs, including air, hotel, transportation, parking, dining, and credit card rewards.
8. March 2012: Nearby Places made it easier to find what’s local
Want a quick bite to eat? Need to stop by a pharmacy or ATM? TripIt has you covered for locating places close to where you’re staying. Whether you’re looking for a place to eat, drink, pick up supplies, or even seek medical care, just tap on Nearby Places to find places close to where you’re staying.

Our second Webby Award was chosen by you, our amazing community of travelers who love the app. We were so honored to win the People’s Voice Award for Mobile & Apps, Travel in 2014.
11. March 2017: We introduced TripIt Pro Go Now to get you to the airport on time
We love keeping your travel plans organized—and part of feeling organized is getting where you need to be on time. In March 2017, we helped travelers with that, launching TripIt Pro Go Now: the feature that tells you when you should leave for the airport and even sends you a push notification 10 minutes before it’s time to go.
12. June 2018: We released Neighborhood Safety Scores
Powered by our partner GeoSure, the Neighborhood Safety Scores feature was released in June of 2018—empowering travelers with hyperlocal safety scores for neighborhoods around the world. A composite score represents the overall risk for a location. The scores are also broken down into categories, such as health and medical; physical harm: women’s safety; political freedoms; theft; and LGBTQ safety. Separate scores are available for daytime and nighttime.
13. January 2020: Travelers took account with Carbon Footprint
In early 2020, we launched Carbon Footprint to help travelers better understand and act upon the carbon footprint of their flights. The feature shows the carbon emissions for air travel and provides practical ideas on how to reduce or offset its environmental impact.
We were the first travel organizing app to automatically aggregate flight emissions across providers, post-booking, giving travelers a holistic view of their air travel footprint.
14. March 2020: We extended TripIt Pro to all travelers
It’s hard to believe it’s been six years since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. In March 2020, we made TripIt Pro free for all travelers to make things a little easier for anyone who was traveling during that tumultuous time. By extending TripIt Pro, we aimed to help all travelers benefit from the proactive monitoring and alerts that the service provides.

16. March 2024: We released TripIt Pro Risk Alerts
Whether it’s an airline pilot strike, a sudden snowstorm, or a technology outage, travel disruptions happen. To help travelers get ahead of them, we launched TripIt Pro Risk Alerts in March 2024.
With Risk Alerts, travelers receive timely notifications when there’s a potential airline or airport incident that may cause their plans to go awry. With critical information at their fingertips, travelers can get to the airport four hours early instead of two so they don’t miss their flight; reschedule their flight to the next morning to avoid a storm; or pack a carry-on instead of a checked bag if baggage handlers are on strike.
17. January 2025: We launched TripIt Pro Travel Guidance
Even the most frequent flyer faces uncertainty when navigating international travel requirements. To help, we launched TripIt Pro Travel Guidance in January 2025 so travelers could view the latest visa and vaccination requirements, as well as safety guidance, for the destinations they’re visiting. This information comes from our partner Riskline.
