The TripIt app organizes all of your travel plans in one place, but are you using it to its maximum functionality? Whether you’re a Pro user or not, make sure you’re familiar with the tools and apps that integrate with, and load from, TripIt so that you can fully utilize its cast of supporting characters.
TripIt Navigator
If you’ve just touched down, we’ve got good news for you: TripIt recently launched TripIt Navigator, a new ground transportation feature. This tool gets you from point A(irport) to point B(usiness meeting) by presenting all of the ground transportation options available to you, along with their estimated costs and travel times. To access this tool, open up the flight, hotel or rental car details screen in the TripIt app, scroll down to Navigator and plug in your desired ground transportation destination.
LoungeBuddy
Whether a delay has left you with some extra time, or you’re simply interested in a quick meal and cocktail before your flight, TripIt’s partnership with LoungeBuddy has you covered. To view available lounges for an upcoming trip, open the TripIt app, tap the itinerary, then flight details, and scroll down to the “Airports” section. Here, you’ll find a list of all the lounges that are accessible at that particular airport. Within each description, you’ll find details for a lounge’s specific location within a terminal and its hours of operation. If you’re on the hunt for a specific feature–such as free Wi-Fi or complimentary showers–be sure to review each lounge’s detailed amenities to confirm it has what you’re looking for.
Bonus: if you’re a TripIt Pro user, you receive $25 in LoungeBuddy credit.
Note: TripIt Pro’s LoungeBuddy perk will end on April 15, 2019. If you have redeemed your $25 credit, you will need to use it through the LoungeBuddy app. For information about when the credit expires and how to use it, please contact LoungeBuddy customer support.
Hipmunk
Already booked your flights? Not to worry. Once your plans load to TripIt, you’ll receive a friendly offer from Hipmunk to fill in the gaps for your upcoming itinerary. (Hint: turn on “auto-forward plans to TripIt” in your Settings tab, and TripIt will take care of the auto-organizing.)
If booking travel faster and more efficiently via an app is atop your list, look no further than Hipmunk. By offering streamlined search results for airlines, hotels, car rentals and more, Hipmunk takes the agony out of booking, and thanks to its chatbot feature, you can book your entire next trip via Facebook Messenger or Slack.
Concur Mobile
For business travelers, the Concur Mobile app is your one-stop-shop for tracking all of your travel, receipts and reports. This free app enables users to manage and track all business-related expenses and receipts, including viewing credit card transactions, adding transactions to expense reports, capturing receipts with the camera on your phone and submitting and approving expense reports.
As a TripIt user, all airfare, hotels, rental car itineraries and more can be booked, changed or cancelled through Concur Mobile. That’s TripIt’s cue to step in, aggregate your plans and keep all your plans organized in the TriptIt app. You’re also able to check the status of your flight on the TripIt app, and if you’re a Pro user, you’ll receive notifications if your flight time has changed.
