It wasn’t that long ago when a “mobile office” wasn’t even a thing. But oh how things have changed. With little more than Wi-Fi and a Wi-Fi enabled device, you’re running your business from anywhere in the world. However, there are some bells and whistles that can upgrade your mobile office. So today we come to you with some of those accessories and gadgets to upgrade your mobile office.
Rechargeable Cell Phone Case
The rechargeable cell phone case may just be my favorite gadget of all-time. It’s the best of both worlds; practical and innovative. You have your pick from a number of different manufacturers, though Mophie is one of the most well-known rechargeable cases, featuring cases for a number of different smart phones, the Apple Watch and iPad. The drawback being that you’ll have to keep the charger powered up as well.
In the same line of thought is the solar charger, which in most cases is more versatile than your everyday charger, since many of them can charge more than one device at once. Many solar chargers, such as a number of different Anker devices, are essentially solar panels, that don’t require outlets and have multiple ports. Others you can simply attach to a window, such as an office, coffee shop, or airplane window, and plug in your device with a USB cord to charge.
Before too long, wallets are going to be irrelevant, thanks to new technology like the Wocket Smart Wallet or Plastc. The principle is the same on both, where you have one card to rule them all, with all your payment cards linked to one universal card. Wocket is more of an electronic device that links with debit, credit, loyalty and gift cards, while Plastc is essentially one universal card.
We couldn’t talk office gadgets and efficiency and not share at least one coffee gadget. Because coffee. Capresso and MoJoe are just a couple of the coffeemakers that make for great gadgets for the mobile office. MoJoe is an actual single-serve coffeemaker inside a travel mug (yes, really), while Capresso has a number of different products, with the On-the-Go Personal Coffee Maker designed for the road warrior (and comes with its own steel mug).
The downside to most printers and scanners is that they can’t exactly fit into a messenger bag or carry-on. But enter printers like the Canon Pixma iP110 and the Epson WorkForce WF-100, both of which are wireless and less than 5 pounds. For those keeping track at home, that’s lighter than a MacBook Pro laptop.
That’s pocket projector, not pocket protector! The pocket projector is just that, a projector that can fit into your pocket—literally. This includes projectors like Brookstone’s HDMI Pocket Projector Mobile and the RIF6 Cube, both of which feature LED light projection that can last up to 20,000 hours, with the Brookstone able to project up to 80” and the RIF6 that can project up to 120”. Bonus points that you can project both your presentations and your movies and TV shows.
Portable LED Lamp
Your options are almost limitless with portable lamps, from Toprime’s portable lamp with wireless Bluetooth speakers to lamps that double as chargers. Perhaps my favorite is the Edmunds Portable LED lamp, which is foldable and can be operated by either cord or AA batteries, and features 100,000 hours of brightness.
