If you visited TripIt HQ last Thursday, you would’ve been hit by a wall of palpable intensity and swept by a wave of eerie silence. You wouldn’t have witnessed the normal office hustle and bustle. In fact, you would’ve seen a seemingly barren office, disturbed only by lunchtime and the occasional coder sprinting across the office (most likely going to grab a Red Bull or some other strong dose of caffeine).
This Thursday in San Francisco, our employees locked themselves in conference rooms and welded themselves to computers with their unbreakable focus. This Thursday, at TripIt HQ, was one of the best days of the year—Hack Day!
On Hack Day, we get to see the best of our employees as they divide into teams and design a potential new product feature in just 24 hours.
After 1,440 minutes of extreme competition, the teams gathered to present what they put together for the 4th Annual Hack Day, “Lord of the Hacks.” Their inventive ideas and cutting-edge coding was judged by Concur’s CEO Steve Singh, CPO Mike Hilton, CTO Mark Nelson, Executive VP of Corporate Strategy John Torrey, Executive VP of Traveler Services Barry Padgett, and VP of Marketing & Advertising Susan Berg.
After some serious deliberation, our expert panel selected this year’s “Lord of the Hacks.” Of course, we can’t reveal the winning idea quite yet, but we’ll tell you lots of celebration followed.
