New "TripIt To Me" Feature for Road Warriors is Unveiled at Web 2.0 Summit
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Web 2.0 Summit - Oct. 19, 2007 – The life of a road warrior is often filled with misplaced flight confirmations, lost hotel directions, and forgotten rental car reservations. Now there's a solution to that frantic search for travel details in the back seat of taxis. TripIt (http://www.tripit.com), the world's first intelligent travel organizer, today announced TripIt To Me, a new feature that allows travelers to get their trip information from anywhere via email, including from mobile devices. TripIt makes this announcement as one of just six Launch Pad finalists at the annual Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco. (http://www.web2summit.com).
TripIt To Me is designed to help travelers out of common inconvenient travel situations. To use it, a traveler simply emails a command to email@example.com, and TripIt responds with relevant details from their itinerary. For instance, on your way to the airport and forgot your printed itinerary? Just email "get flight" to instantly receive your flight information from TripIt. Landed at the airport and not sure what rental car company you booked with? Just email "get car" to TripIt for all of your rental car details. In a taxi and can't find your hotel address? Just email "get hotel" and TripIt will send you your hotel confirmation instantly. More information about TripIt To Me is available at http://www.tripit.com/press.
"We created TripIt To Me for road warriors, as we understand how difficult and frustrating it is to keep track of travel details on the road, and how easy mobile access to your travel plans can be essential for a smooth trip," said Gregg Brockway, TripIt co-founder and president. "We've been thrilled by the feedback that TripIt has been receiving from thousands of frequent travelers, and mobile access is one of the top requests."
TripIt To Me builds on TripIt's core service that enables a user to email TripIt their travel plans from anywhere they booked, and automatically create a master itinerary complete with daily weather, local maps and helpful destination information -- by using information pulled from a variety of other popular websites. Once the itinerary is created, TripIt makes it easy to share and collaborate on trips with friends and business colleagues.
TripIt and TripIt To Me are free services. Travelers can get started by visiting http://www.tripit.com to learn more, or by simply forwarding a travel confirmation email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
