Alex Kornfeind is an influential commentator and strategist on emerging software travel industry trends. He first spotted the significance of OTA services in 1995 when he set up his own IATA travel agency online which rapidly became a standard-bearer for the nascent web travel industry in Italy. He sold the first goAirline ticket in a travel agency, via web on 1998, changing the financial stream while asking a fee at the traveller instead being paid by the GDS.
He sold the majority of the stocks of the OTA and went on to found piramide.net Srl, a specialist website covering enterprise adoption of web services and business process for the travel industry.
